افراد این تیم مانند همه "تیم ملی" ها زیر نظر مربی تیم ملی در جریان مسابقات لیگ برتر از بین زبدگان کشوری گزینش می شوند. حکومتها اصولا چاره ای ندارند. آنها حتی اگر بخواهند از مسابقات جهانی سود تبلیغاتی ببرند، ناچارند به روند تخصصی "زبده گزینی" تن بدهند. تیمهای ملی ایران و به ویژه تیم ملی فوتبال اصولا از انسانهای شریف و زحمتکش که از طبقات پایین جامعه برخاسته اند، گرد آمده اند.

کنفدراسیون اتحادیه های کارگری بین المللی در پنجمین کنگره جهانی خود در ملبورن استرالیا، که از ۱۷-۲۲ نوامبر ۲۰۲۲ برپا بود، بیانیه ای را در همبستگی با مبارزات مردم ایران تصویب کرد.
