IRAN: VIEW FORM THE LEFT

The incident has led to calls for an independent international investigation to establish the facts surrounding the strike, assess its compliance with international law, and determine the nature of the vessel and its cargo. Legal experts and observers have argued that questions of responsibility and accountability should be addressed through transparent international mechanisms rather than unilateral action.

The majority of issues covered in the MOU are in Iran’s favour. The colonial designs of Trump and Netanyahu have been dealt a deserved blow. To compare Obama’s JCPOA to the present MOU, this is a weaker deal for the US than the one Obama achieved. For the world as a whole, however, it is a positive outcome.

Iran faces a dangerous crossroads where renewed war, prolonged instability, and a persistent state of neither war nor peace threaten the country’s economic, social, and political future. Years of sanctions, inflation, corruption, and regional confrontation have imposed immense costs on ordinary Iranians, while the continuation of military tensions only strengthens authoritarian, security, and military institutions at the expense of civil society and democratic change.

Iran’s economy has suffered immensely under half a century of the Islamic Republic’s misrule. But it is hard to foresee another uprising in Iran in the immediate future. The Iranian regime has unashamedly brutalized its people and will have no compunction in doing so again.
International Affairs - Left Party of Iran
A credible pathway toward ending the war must be grounded in a framework capable of producing a stable and lasting peace in the region. Such an outcome may emerge either within the framework of the current political order or in a future post–Islamic Republic context.

THE WAR ON IRAN
The war on Iran has started. Israel and the US claim that this is a pre-emptive war. None of the known facts attest to such claims. This war attempts to impose US/ Israeli hegemony over the whole of the Middle East. Already Trump declared he has the right to pick the next supreme leader of the Islamic Republic. The brutality of the Islamic Republic (and its anachronistic clerical regime) is ...obvious. Openly acknowledged talks between the US and Iran are taking place in Oman. Still, no one – not even the impetuous Donald Trump -- knows if a military attack on Iran is imminent.

he Iranian people’s struggle for bread, freedom, and human dignity must remain independent and rooted in their own collective will. Any form of foreign military attack or coercive intervention would only deepen violence, fuel instability, and ultimately undermine the legitimacy and effectiveness of the popular movement.

May the New Year be blessed to everyone in a world that still suffers from the wounds of war, inequality, discrimination, injustice, and tyranny, but at the same time, signs of hope for perseverance, resistance, and awakening are sprouting everywhere.

Prior to these changes, the region’s conservative Arab regimes, as well as Israel, regarded the Iranian regime as their most dangerous and loathsome enemy. Now, however, Arab regimes recognise Israeli expansionism as their most serious threat

After two years of relentless warfare, Gaza faces a fragile ceasefire that may mark the end of a devastating chapter. Despite enduring immense destruction, famine, and tens of thousands of deaths, Palestinians in Gaza continue to demonstrate resilience and hope for freedom. Israel’s military campaign, though it occupied much of Gaza and inflicted catastrophic damage, failed to eliminate Hamas or secure all hostages

Through years of destructive and confrontational policies, including limiting IAEA inspections and blocking negotiations, the Islamic Republic has squandered opportunities to avoid this outcome, driving the nation into one of its gravest crises in decades.

From our perspective, this European move represents a step toward weakening diplomacy and facilitating militaristic tendencies in the Middle East.

Even in Germany, Israel’s second largest arms supplier, public opinion has tilted steeply against Israeli conduct. Most Western politicians have decided to distance themselves (albeit symbolically) from these atrocities.
Israel is facing mounting international condemnation over its genocidal policies. There is a growing sense that Western populations are turning against Israeli atrocities and favour a long-term solution beyond the status quo in Gaza. Finally, Britain, Canada, and France are moving to join another 147 UN member states in formally recognizing Palestinian statehood. This move is timed to coincide with the upcoming meeting of the UN General Assembly.

Many Iranian and non-Iranian parties were present at the convention. A rainbow of organizations -- leftist, national, democratic, and republican -- expressed their solidarity with the Iranian people’s struggle and with our party’s goals and objectives.

The unspeakable alternative remains a war on Iran. Given that a third round of talks has been agreed, a ‘positive’ outcome remains possible. This is an opportunity for Iran and the world to avoid catastrophe.

In these dangerous times, a government that dodges responsibility by offering superficial criticism of state institutions and neglects to be accountable to the people becomes a source of danger itself. The government is obligated to pursue direct negotiations and to make them happen.

There are indications that the US and Iran are haggling under the table. (Open negotiations would be a likely indication that an agreement is imminent). Let us hope that peace can win this round.

The Fall of the Assad Regime
In early December 2024, more than five decades of the Assad dynasty’s dictatorial rule in Syria came to an abrupt end.
Huge questions remain outstanding as to whether peace, prosperity, territorial integrity and democracy will be achieved in Syria. Coherent answers are likely to take a long time to emerge.
Syria has suffered many years of civil war and sanctions resulting in a shattered economy.
Will the country have enough investigation to be turned into a viable economy? By whom and with what conditions?

The public undressing of a student in protest against the harsh conduct by university security guards, coupled with the widespread video coverage of the event and reports of Ahoo Daryaei being hospitalized in an unnamed mental facility, sparked significant reactions across society. These reactions extended beyond Iran, garnering global attention. Amnesty International, the United Nations Human Rights representative, the Socialist Party of France, and several other organizations condemned the actions of regime agents against this female doctoral student and called for her release while emphasizing the importance of respecting women's rights. In Paris, a group of French women held demonstrations in her support.

Since the Israeli air raid on Iran on 25/10/2024 both sides seem to have pulled back from crossing each other’s red lines. As long as the Gaza war continues, this ‘controlled’ tit-for-tat will keep the Middle East on edge. Netanyahu’s claim regarding changing the Middle East map seems to be rhetorical for now. For the time being, the two antagonists carry on in their low-level war. The Islamic Republic will not give up its allies in the Middle East. At the same time, Israel will not give up her goal of dominating the entire region.

The only way to end the war and bloodshed is for the supporters of Israel, especially the U.S. and Israel itself, to accept the two-state solution and ensure the independence and security of the Palestinian people, as well as de-escalating relations between the two nations. The United Nations must declare a ceasefire, stop Israel's aggressive war in Gaza and Lebanon, and call for an end to the occupation of Palestinian

We should not expect much of the current ‘cease fire talks’. Even if somehow they “succeed’, the possibility of war flaring up soon again is very high. As long as Israel dreams of dominating the Middle East, we can expect disastrous wars in our neighbourhood.

Donald Trump’s principal campaign slogan is ‘America First’. With this slogan, he portrays American society’s problems in the most simplistic way possible while ignoring fundamental issues such as the wealth disparity between rich and poor.

The clash of strategic aims between the US and Israel seems inevitably to be leading to an imminent clash of current policies. For the moment, Israel seems to be trying to ameliorate the tension. Their latest ploy is to declare that major Israeli military operations will be finished within two weeks.

The Israeli army's deadly attack on the Palestinian refugee camp in Rafah has once again sparked deep global revulsion against Israel's war in Gaza. Israel's war crime in this attack was so obvious that the main person responsible for this massacre, Benjamin Netanyahu, called it "a tragic event" and claimed that the operation to kill the refugees "went tragically wrong."

By striving to solve the Palestinian issue and weaken extremist and radical tendencies in Israel, in the region, and among Palestinians, there is hope that we are taking steps toward sustainable peace in the region. The highest level of security is achieved under the shadow of economic capability, societal development, and people's support, and this is possible in the light of democratic governance and a foreign policy with zero tension and creating friendly relations with neighbors.

Throughout the past year, they have fought for their rights on every street and in every city of Iran, one way or another. Despite facing challenges such as forced hijab and inequality, they have shown resilience. Many have been imprisoned, fired, and assaulted by men within the Islamic Regime's government, yet these women have never ceased their fight. Their determination remains unwavering, and they will continue to push forward in the coming year. Significant progress has been made during and after the 'Women, Life, Freedom' movement, and their struggle will only gain momentum in the new year. The election in Iran have concluded. Election officials have echoed their 'thrilling epic' slogan, but many view it as a tedious affair. Some former politicians adhered to their promises and refrained from participating. Some joined in with the aim of 'building up' Iran, while others abstained, contemplating Iran's future.

The root cause of the fear, terror and unending suffering is clear: Israel’s illegal occupation ofthe West Bank and Gaza, and its unbearable system of apartheid imposed on Palestiniansthroughout Palestine/Israel. Palestinians have shown that no amount of firepower will forcethem to flee the only land they have left. The international community MUST force Israel to negotiate.

For the last three weeks, despite massive worldwide condemnation, Israel has carried out an ever-escalating campaign of indiscriminate bombing. At the time of writing, the Palestinian Health Authority has announced the deaths of more than 8000, including over 2000 children. Israel has reduced to rubble thousands of residential buildings, schools, churches, mosques and hospitals. This is not “self- defence”. It is vengeful, indiscriminate slaughter of the most barbaric kind.
