For the last three weeks, despite massive worldwide condemnation, Israel has carried out an ever-escalating campaign of indiscriminate bombing. At the time of writing, the Palestinian Health Authority has announced the deaths of more than 8000, including over 2000 children. Israel has reduced to rubble thousands of residential buildings, schools, churches, mosques and hospitals. This is not “self- defence”. It is vengeful, indiscriminate slaughter of the most barbaric kind.

While expressing our sympathy to the family of Armita Garavand and her friends and acquaintances and expressing our disgust towards the organized repression of women, we ask all freedom fighters progressive organizations and parties and human rights institutions around the world, to help end human right abuses in Iran with all the means that they have at their disposal.

The Left Party of Iran supports the immediate cessation of war and bloodshed and killings in the region and wants an immediate ceasefire and direct negotiations to resolve the disputes between the Palestinians and Israel. We consider it impossible to solve the conflict between Palestine and Israel through war. We call on all the progressive and pro-peace forces in the world and the left and national parties to take the initiative to stop this war and demand lasting peace based on the solution of the formation of two states and an agreement between the Palestinians and Israel with the intervention of the United Nations and the implementation of its resolutions.

The Left Party of Iran congratulates Mrs. Narges Mohammadi, her family, her friends and all activists of the "Women, Life, Freedom" movement for receiving the Nobel Peace Prize. We call on all human rights organizations and freedom fighters in Iran and the world to fight for the freedom of Narges Mohammadi and thousands of other political prisoners in the prisons of the Islamic Republic.

The left party of Iran considers the Islamic Republic responsible for the life of Armita Geravand. Forging the events leading to Armita's unconsciousness is a sign of the regime's fear of the people's pent-up anger, which can be exploded by any incident. Riddance of people who are angry with injustice and tyranny of the Islamic Republic is only possible with collective will of everyone and continuous resistance against the criminal actions of this regime. If we all do not stand against this brutal regime today, the next victim will be another child of the people like Armita.
