The killing of Mahsa (Zhina) Amini, a 22-year-old girl from Saqqez, in Tehran by the repressive forces of the Islamic Republic, has been protested by the widest part of the people across the country and has provoked their public anger. This is not the first time that a young woman is arrested and killed by the regime’s mobs. Previously, Zahra Kazemi and Zahza Bani Yacoub were beaten to death in detention centers. The beating of people in the detention centers of the Islamic Republic and the torture and killing of detainees have become a common phenomenon. But the murder of a young girl who was in the spring of her life, so cruelly and under the pretext of her hijab, has caused public disgust with the dark rule of repression and killing of the Islamic Republic and has shaken the Iranian society and provoked public anger and hatred.
On this occasion, the Cooperation Center of the Iranian Kurdistan’s Political Parties, which consists of Kurdish political parties, has issued a statement, asking all the people of Kurdistan to "hold a public and magnificent strike on Monday, September 28th, in protest against the anti-human and anti-women policies of the regime and to preserve the dignity of Kurdish girls, women and youth." This cooperation center has also asked all political parties, civil organizations and human rights activists to "respond to this call and cooperate with the people in regard to the strike, to give a strong response to the unleashed regime of the Islamic Republic."
Following this call, a number of other parties and organizations active in Kurdistan have also invited people to hold a general strike on this day.
The Left Party of Iran (People’s Fadaian) supports the call of the Cooperation Center of the Iranian Kurdistan’s Political Parties for a general strike on Monday, September 28th, and calls on all those who are interested in freedom and liberation from the disgraceful regime of the Islamic Republic to participate in this strike and protest against the murder of Mahsa (Zhina) Amini. This strike can be a crushing response to the killers of people's children and a manifestation of solidarity with their bereaved families.
Once again, while expressing our sympathy with the family of Mahsa (Zhina) Amini and with the people of Iran and expressing our disgust for the murderous crime of the regime, we consider the corrupt regime of the Islamic Republic, headed by Ali Khamenei, to be the main responsible for such crimes. In the fight against pressure and repression, our party stands with the people, especially the broad-minded women of our country and all those who want to get rid of the Islamic regime.
