This sentence represents not only a violation of Ms. Mohammadi’s fundamental rights but also a direct attack on trade union freedoms, women’s rights, and civil society in Iran. If carried out, it would serve as a chilling precedent to silence all those striving for justice and dignity through peaceful means.
Given your position as Chair of the Subcommittee on Human Rights, I respectfully urge you to:

Bring Ms. Mohammadi’s case urgently before the Subcommittee and highlight it in your engagements with EU institutions.

Encourage the European Union and its Member States to exert immediate and strong diplomatic pressure on the Iranian authorities to halt this execution.
