Let us Raise the Slogan "Let's not Vote!" to a Far-Reaching Slogan!

Dear Friends!

With less than four weeks to go until the day of the "election", the "election" atmosphere is still cold and whacked. It is appropriate to expose this regime show, which is the most closed ‌ presidential "election" in the life of the Islamic Republic, as much as possible. From Khamenei's explicit recommendation a few weeks ago that most candidates should be screened, the new executive regulations set by the Guardian Council and its spokesman’s acknowledgement that turnout is insignificant and not a criterion, all indicate that the system is expecting a massive Boycott. In the meantime, what can make the people turn their backs on the "election" is the history of each of the trusted candidates of the Supreme Leader with a history tainted with corruption and complicity with tyranny. All candidates have been among the officials of the regime and with their function they have led the country to the current catastrophic situation.

"No" to this "election" is not a sign of passivity towards the ballot box, but a protest against the regime, its policies and actions, and an indication of a huge political arrayal of the majority of the people athwart the system. People nonchalance from the ballot box on a large scale can put the regime in the face of widespread boycott. "No!" to "elections" can be seen as a clear sign of the dissatisfaction of all walks of life in the country, who suffer from all kinds of the regime discrimination, tyranny, corruption and looting. The society's turn away from the ballot boxes in the Islamic Republic is another manifestation of the protest movements of the past four years and a sign of the people's opposition to the policies of this corrupt, inefficient and repressive regime and its very existence.

Freedom and Justice Fighters!

"Let us not vote!" is the emergence of the protest movement "Where is my vote?" Of the Green Movement, which exposed the existence of opposition with the regime formed in the heart of the society. "Let's not vote!" Echoes are the cries that echoed in the sky of the country during the uprisings of January 2017 and November 2019 and shook the regime. It is a continuation of the protests that took place because of the crash of the passenger plane and the lies that followed. The current slogan "Let's not vote!" is not a transitional moment in the political life of the country, but an action in the service of the transition from the Islamic Republic to the establishment of a secular and democratic republic. The current slogan "Let's not vote!" is an indication of the maturity of civil rights to prepare for free elections in Iran tomorrow and can strengthen the struggle for freedom, secularism, democracy and social justice.

In the widespread opposition to this normative "election", every non-participation in the "election" is important and has its role; this is by no means enough to just say "no" to this regime show. It is necessary to take advantage of any initiative to expand the option of boycott. The struggle to boycott the "elections" does not end with encouraging family and friends not to vote; it is necessary to invite colleagues, neighbors and every citizen to persuade them not to show up at the polling stations. We can use face-to-face and telephone conversations, sending emails and messages on social networks, as well as any possibility that could expand the boycott campaign. In this enlightenment, showing the tainted records of the regime candidates who have been contributing to the repression and corruption of the Islamic Republic will play an effective role in exposing this ordered "election".

Freedom and Justice Fighters!

Supporters of the Left Party of Iran (People's Fadaian)!

There is no doubt that the greater the gains of the "election" boycott campaign, the more regime will lose its morale. The ostentations of Khamenei and his aides are not signs of their sense of power, but a sign of fear and anxiety about the potential burst of "No!” in society. The orders and prohibitions of the Supreme Leader are an inverse reflection of his concerns about the decline of self-confidence in the ranks of insiders and fall in the body of the system. Just as any success in the campaign against the regime engineered "election" can be considered in the service and in the direction of the convergence of the ranks of the opposition of the Islamic Republic.

The Left Party of Iran (People’s Fadaian) views this "election" not through the narrow lens of interaction over the Islamic Republic, but from the broad perspective of the Iranian people's strategic struggle against this system. We emphasize that It is necessary to rediscover the enduring importance of a common struggle for "let’s not vote!" in the fact that the more united we act, the more the popular force will exert its power before the eyes of all. In these politically sensitive days, we declare once again that the hands of the members and supporters of our party, wherever they are, are open to shake hand of any force who demand freedom, democracy, secularism and social justice. As we have repeatedly stated, we consider the cooperation and unification of the secular and democratic republican forces as a step towards the transition to democracy and the establishment of a secular and democratic republic in Iran.
